Chiropractic Simplified

Disease (Health Problem):  A group of cells that are malfunctioning.

Symptom:  A signal from your body to your brain that reaches your awareness, and tells you that something is wrong.

Your brain and spinal cord (central nervous system) control all of the cells of your body, by sending messages to them through your nerves (peripheral nervous system).

Subluxation:  If one or more of the vertebrae get out of alignment (subluxated), instead of it protecting the nerve, the nerve can get irritated.  This prevents the proper vital messages from the brain to the body and from the body back to the brain (like static on a cell phone).

If a part of the body (i.e. organ or muscle) can not receive the message (i.e. static) from the brain, then that part of the body can not work properly.  This can result in a loss of function and all types of potential health problems.

99% of all drugs help cover symptoms, but do nothing for the correction of health problems.

Chiropractic works to gently move (adjust) the vertebrae, to take the pressure off of the nerves, and allow the brain to send its messages to all of the parts of the body.   This corrects the underlying cause of the health problem.  It is as simple as that!

Can babies with colic be helped with chiropractic?
It's probably one of the times a parent feels the most helpless. But based on the research, chiropractic and colic relief appear to go hand in glove. With success rates in the mid-90% range, more and more Newton parents are seeing a chiropractor. If you have a baby with colic learn how chiropractic may help.
What's the difference between a "good" drug and a "bad" drug?
As a chiropractor, I see the use of many drugs (legal or illegal) as merely symptom treating. Worse, virtually every drug produces unwanted effects. The effects of chiropractic are largely positive effects. If you're a Newton parent, consider carefully before giving your child a cough medication, cold remedy or pain reliever so this sort of question doesn't arise in the first place.
