Your First Visit to Our Newton Practice

New patients are warmly welcomed to our Newton chiropractic office.

New patients often remark how “homey” our office is. That’s good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surrounding.

Make Yourself at Home

You should find plenty of convenient parking around Piccadilly Square and a well-lit parking lot. You’ll be greeted by name when you enter our office and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our facilities.

If you’ve already completed your admitting paperwork, great! If not, after doing so we’ll likely show you a short 5-minute video and then you’ll meet Dr. Nathan Cintron.

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic can help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.  If we can help, wonderful, we will let you know with what and how long it might take and make our ideal recommendations for care.  If we cannot, we will let you know that too, and refer you to the proper health care specialist.  Our goal is make you comfortable.  If you're unsure or unsatisfied with something we say or a certain procedure, let us know! We're here to help.

Newton chiropractic patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

What will happen on my first visit?

Insight Subluxation Stationby Chiropractic Leadership Alliance (CLA)

The first visit is essentially to gather the necessary information to see if chiropractic is right for you. You will meet with Dr. Cintron after filling out some brief paperwork describing your health history and your health goals. The initial consultation is free and it we offer this so we can get to know one another and decide whether or not we can accept you as a patient in our office.

If you are a good candidate for chiropractic care and we think chiropractic can help you the next step is an examination. In the examination we will be checking for a condition that happens in the spine called a vertebral subluxation. A vertebral subluxation is probably the most common spinal injury and results in a disruption to the flow of intelligence from your brain to your body; it interferes with your Mind-Body connection. If you have subluxation chiropractic will be able to help you and you will love what we do. A chiropractic examination in our office is focused on discovering any previous spinal injuries with nerve damage, there are many parts to the exam and each part is explained as we perform the exam. Depending on your history and what we discover in the exam Dr. Cintron may order x-rays of your spine to confirm his exam findings and to help determine approximately how long the problem has actually been there.

Your examination will also include a computerized examination called the "Insight Discovery Examination." This examination involves several important components.

Insight Subluxation Station Test Resultsby Chiropractic Leadership Alliance (CLA)

The first part of this examination process involves reading spinal heat differences from one level of the spine to another, as well as from one side of the spine to the other. Heat is a by product of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. From this we can see how subluxation may be affecting these functions of your nervous system.

In the second part of this examination the Insight Discovery Examination scans the surface of your spinal area for surface electrical impulses, and measures them along your spine. This helps measure the affect of subluxation on the motor nerve system and the affect subluxations may be having on your muscles.

The importance of each of these tests will be explained to you at your Report of Findings. However, it is important to note that this examination helps scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your spine. It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning. Using the Insight Discovery Examination is much more accurate that just depending on "how you feel" on any given day.

At the end of the first visit we will give you some information on what the doctor examined you for and we will schedule your second appointment. On your second visit as soon as you enter the office you will watch a short video that will help you better understand your x-rays and doctors report. He will give a Report of his examination findings, go over his recommendations for your care, and discuss your insurance and financial options. Once you choose to begin care we will schedule your New Patient Orientation, this lays the foundation for all future visits in the office.

There is no charge for the New Patient Orientation. We are simply providing you with the necessary information to make a decision on participating in chiropractic care in our office. Once you decide to participate we will review our office policies and procedures with you, schedule your appointments, make your payment arrangements, and then begin your chiropractic adjustments. Future visits in the office will be focused on the reduction and correction of your subluxations and therefore will not consume very much time. Periodically we will perform Progress Exams to evaluate your progress and see how your spine is correcting and stabilizing. We will do all we can to get you to Wellness care as quickly as possible.

You will be joining millions of others worldwide that have enjoyed better health through chiropractic. Congratulations on your decision to explore chiropractic care in our office.

Dr. Nathan Asks some important questions of interest to Newton residents - Chiropractor Newton Dr. Nathan Asks...

Do chiropractors prescribe medications for the pain?
No. Chiropractic is a drug-free approach to better health. Instead, we rely on natural methods. We can show you how to use ice to control pain. When properly applied, ice can have an analgesic effect without the unwanted and sometimes dangerous effects of pain medications.
Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Newton and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic patient knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
