Introducing Newton Chiropractor Dr. Nathan Cintron

Newton, Massachusetts chiropractor, Dr. Nathan Cintron

To put it simply, I've always had to think everything through.  Was I skeptical of chiropractic in the beginning? I have to admit, I was.

In my early years of college, the pressure was on.  You know, from family, friends, yourself; what do you want to be when you grow up?  I've always enjoyed science and math, so naturally I headed in the direction of Health and Medicine.  I figured why not become a Medical Doctor or maybe a physical therapist.  That would make everyone proud.  A Doctor, a Healer, I thought... yeah, healing people and making a handsome living, doing that would be perfect, or would it?  Until I was introduced to Chiropractic.  It was then when I found out what I wanted to DO for the rest of my life, not just be.  This is when I found people do not heal people, the body heals itself.  There never was an a-ha moment or a "miracle" correction, which we see here in our clinic daily.  I simply think Chiropractic found me.  Upon my research of the profession, this was the something I had been looking for all along.  This is what I wanted to DO.  Not Medicine, not therapy, but to become a "facilitator" of health and wellness. I want you to re-read this term, "facilitator," because it took me over 10 years to truly understand that the body needs to be allowed to work, not simply forced to do someones bidding.  When your body is functioning at 100%, there is very little it cannot accomplish.

Learning how the body works is truly fascinating.  The physiology of how our body adapts and compensates to it's environment is something we experience daily, but most of us never really appreciate.  It's not our fault, mind you, we've never been properly educated on our body's innate healing capacity and allowing our bodies' to work optimally.  After 9 years of intense study post-high school, I'm still learning.  My greatest education has been the members of my office, watching them heal and how they respond to chiropractic care.

Chiropractors think differently. The philosophy is different.  The psychology is different. Our procedures are different. Our purpose is different.

I'm also a huge Mets fan!

When you get a chance, look up the word, Paradigm. Quite simply, it is the way someone sees something.  It is very difficult to change one's Paradigm, but my personal goal at our office to "shift" your Paradigm and how you see health and wellness. My concern for you is how you Move, Eat and Think.  If you're in pain, I will work my tail off to make sure you are getting out of pain.  No one deserves to be in pain, but I will address your pain by making sure you are Moving well, Eating well and Thinking well.  If you are not in pain.  My goal is to keep it that way and allow you increased health by facilitating Moving well, Eating well and Thinking well.  You see regardless of your pain levels.  My paradigm, the Wellness paradigm, is one that does not change.  By restoring and maintaining Movement, Proper Nutrition and Proper Emotional thought and well being, I know your health will be optimized and you'll be on your way to experiencing true Wellness.

At Newton Wellness Center, we practice what we preach.  So when we are outside the office, the mission never stops. We are  very active, very cautious about our nutritional choices and always try to maintain a positive mental attitude about everything that we do.

I do have a medical doctor who I see annually for my medical check-up.  It is there where my chemistry is measured (blood levels, blood pressure, urine analysis, kidney function).  He measures and compares me to the "normal" population and if there is a pathology (abnormal physiology) he'll let me know and make recommendations.  Medicine has its place in the fold of society, but truth be told, medicine was originally designed for emergency use only.  In my opinion, that is where it should stay.  If I fall off my roof and break something, thank goodness for emergency medical care.  If I had a pen jabbed in my ear by one of my little patients, thank goodness for emergency medical care.  Proper movement, nutrition and thinking  (ie. Chiropractic) would do little in these situations. Addressing structural and movement concerns is where Chiropractic flourishes.

Creating healthy habits is something I have conditioned myself to address.  I treat my body like a temple.  That is why, regardless of pain, symptoms or sickness, I get adjusted by a chiropractor once a week.  To restore proper movement and function of my entire spine and nerve system.  My diet is chalk full of fresh fruits, vegetables and organic meats. I only take two supplements daily , a multi-vitamin and omega-3 fish oils (talk to Dr. Cintron about why these two).  I exercise everyday by playing sports (soccer, in particular, is a passion of mine) and meditate and read regularly to maintain the "sanity" of not only myself, but everyone around me.

Enough about me!  I want to hear about you. I'm an excellent listener and am always here to educate and serve.  How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Dr. Nathan Asks some important questions of interest to Newton residents - Chiropractor Newton Dr. Nathan Asks...

Do chiropractors prescribe medications for the pain?
No. Chiropractic is a drug-free approach to better health. Instead, we rely on natural methods. We can show you how to use ice to control pain. When properly applied, ice can have an analgesic effect without the unwanted and sometimes dangerous effects of pain medications.
Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Newton and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic patient knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
